Prof. P. Rajasekaran currently serves as the Finance Officer and Deputy Registrar (Administration) at Vinayaka Mission’s Research Foundation (VMRF). With over two decades of experience in academia, administration, research, and consultancy, he has made substantial contributions to the university and beyond.

Career Overview: Prof. Rajasekaran began his career in 2001 as an Embedded Software Engineer at Adroit IT Solutions, Bangalore. Following his Master’s degree, he joined Aarupadai Veedu Institute of Technology (AVIT) in 2004. His dedication and expertise led to a series of promotions. He was promoted to Vice-Principal (Administration) in 2018, and later appointed Deputy Registrar (Administration) at VMRF in 2020. He is appointed as Finance Officer of the university in the year 2023.

Research and Publications: Prof. Rajasekaran has contributed 21 papers to international journals and presented 12 papers at national and international conferences. He holds two invention patents, three design patents, and an innovation patent granted by IP Australia. His research interests and innovative projects have driven advancements in renewable energy at AVIT, including the installation of a 2kW windmill and a 126 kWp grid-connected solar power plant.

Leadership in Conferences and International Collaborations: Prof. Rajasekaran has represented the institution at conferences in the U.S., Singapore, Thailand, and Bangladesh. He also led a Faculty and Student Exchange Program at Naresuan University, Thailand, in 2016 and 2018, and engaged in academic collaborations with institutions in Bangladesh.

Key Contributions and Initiatives:

  • Industry Collaboration: Instrumental in implementing industry-integrated programs in collaboration with Intel and NEC Corporation, Japan, enhancing the academic experience at the Faculty of Engineering & Technology.
  • Ganesan Incubation and Entrepreneurship Center (GIEC): Established the GIEC, a Section 8 company within the university dedicated to promoting innovation and entrepreneurship among faculty and students—the first of its kind at VMRF.
  • Infrastructure Development: Spearheaded the establishment of fully automated libraries at AVIT and AVMC, providing cutting-edge resources and establishing a remote access digital library at the university.
